Volunteer Spotlight: Deb Baur
An outstanding event manager with a huge passion for children and education, Deb Baur is the event leader and manager for our exciting upcoming event Sergenti Nights. She is utilizing all of her passion and talents to make this event an amazing success!
Deb Baur was first drawn to Asante Africa after meeting one of our guests from Maasai last fall. His name was Sabore Ole Oyie, and Deb was instantly impressed by his candor about life in Africa, and his amazing story of being the first child in his village to go to school. It was an "eye opener" for Deb. After visiting a volunteer event in the spring, she felt she "walked into a room full of motivated, passionate people from all walks of life with one common element- helping children through Asante Africa have a chance of creating their own futures." That's when she knew she had to be a part of it all!
When asked what she would like others to think about regarding volunteering, she says, "We can all give a little and make big changes together. Check out the volunteer opportunities! You will not regret it."
