In Spring 2008, teaching materials and books for 300 students were delivered and
distributed to Sister Mary Stephen Nkoitoi Secondary School. There was excitement in
the air because the children had been sharing books with many fellow students before
this time.
By January 2009, the students of this school were seen dancing in the streets of Narok because they had just been informed that they had the top scores of all co-ed schools in their District.
The Headmistress promptly reached Hellen Nkuraiya, Program Manager for Asante Africa, Kenya, to celebrate that the scores were a result of the students having adequate study time and access to their new books. Many of these students are now on their way to college, having received the right boost at the right time.
