Save the Date for Escaping to Zanzibar

Escape to Zanzibar, The Jewel of Tanzania

Highlights on CultureThis year's SOLD OUT Fall Celebration and Fundraiser brought together our Asante Africa supporters for an exciting night of great music, fun, food, and laughter that created a magical evening for all. We were amazed to see the incredible generosity that flowed from the room and a wonderful sense of unity that exemplifies the "Power of WE".

The generous support of our sponsors and partners made this evening possible.

Asante Sana to all our Sponsors and Partners.

Your generosity fuels Asante Africa Foundation, allowing us to enable our students in Kenya and Tanzania to make their dreams a reality. In this difficult economic time we currently facing, it was inspiring to me and everyone in the room last night to see so many people giving such amazing gifts to those they do not know on the other side of the world. This is what Asante Africa stands for. We estimate the evening raised over $45,000. WOW!!!!!!!

We recognized our first recipient of the "Power of WE" Award — Orion Alternative School.

Orion Alternative School Receiving awardWe recognized our first recipient of the "Power of WE" Award — Orion Alternative School. In April 2011, the students of Orion held a Walk-A-Thon to raise funds for desks at one of our partnering schools indeeply impoverish rural Kenya. Students raised $3500 during their Walk-A-Thon, enough to provide approximately 100 desks for students at Montonyak Primary School! For their commitment and the size of their hearts, Asante Africa Foundation was proud to honor Orion School students, teachers, and leaders; exemplifying that each of us, can create positive change and make a difference together!

People Power Made the Night Possible

Volunteer working on setting up tablesOur planning team and volunteers gave months, weeks and days of their time and talents to create this wonderful experience. Their huge spirit, energy and determination were inspiring to watch and a precious gift that we greatly appreciate.

FLICKR EVENT PHOTOS

A sold out house enjoyed African family style food and music, live African drummers and dancing, and a moving video featuring our students and volunteers at home and abroad speaking about the importance of education in changing lives.

We celebrated 5 years of achievements and looked toward the future of how WE can work together to create a significant change in our global community.

Couldn't Make the Event?

It's never too late. You can still donate directly to a program today. Your support will have direct impact on the children of our schools.
