It will be an evening to remember with some amazing firsts. Collectively experience the sights, sounds and flavors of East Africa as we are reminded of our own personal journeys and successes. 

You will be personally greeted “red carpet” African style by traditional drummers. Be prepared to join in.

Meet young visiting African scholars to get a glimpse of how it is that they came to be studying at Cal Berkeley! They will share their journey from rural Africa to modern university life in the US.

Erna is the CEO and Chairman of the Board for Asante Africa Foundation. She founded Asante Africa Foundation after returning from travels to Tanzania in 2005, saddened by the lack of basic education access and facilities. .
