Asante Africa Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes quality educational access and leadership development for children in East Africa (Kenya and Tanzania). Asante Africa Foundation believes in the power of knowledge as a catalyst to help young people create a future where they live their dreams. We achieve this vision through partnering with local families, educators and community members to create safe and healthy learning environments, strengthen teacher quality, enhance learning in the classrooms, provide merit-based scholarships, and leadership development.

Asante Africa Foundation has volunteer opportunities for everyone. Volunteers can enhance and learn new skills, network with others and directly impact the lives of thousands of children in East Africa.

Graphic Design Intern
Asante Africa Foundation is seeking an experienced and creative Graphic Design Internto be a part of our marketing and communications team. Possible projects you might be working on: creating graphics for the website, social media, annual report; designing fundraising materials, brochures, invitations etc. You should be able to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines. The hours are flexible and you can work remotely. Time commitment is approximately 10 hours per week.
  • Requirements

    • Professional experience in graphic design or a current graphic design student
    • Passionate about Asante Africa Foundation’s mission and international development
    • Creative thinking and ability to multi-task
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator; or similar applications
    • Knowledge of web design (HTML and CSS) preferred
    • Access to the computer with internet and graphic design software

  • Position description:

    Asante Africa Foundation is looking for an enthusiastic SEO/SMO/Google Adwords Intern to work with our Marketing and Communications team. This is a great opportunity to enhance your social media/communications skills in relation to the nonprofit sector. One aspect of the internship will include work closely with the social media team to execute on SEO/SMO initiatives. The hours are flexible and you can work remotely. Time commitment is approximately 10-15 hours per week.
  • Requirements:

    • Understanding of development issues, with strong desire to learn about education and women’s health and empowerment issues
    • Strong research and evaluation background
    • Ability to take direction with minimal supervision
    • Significant attention to detail
    • Ability to clean and organize data
    • Understanding of data codebooks
    • Ability to develop data codebooks
    • Strong Excel skills
    • Ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis using Excel
    • Ability to create charts and graphs and other visual representations of data in Excel
    • Ability to assist with survey development
