The “Power of ME” Award recognizes the strength to achieve despite the odds, as demonstrated by students.
Lepilali Ngoilenya, Tanzania – After several years of struggling to complete primary school because his family couldn’t afford the fees, Lepilali was finally awarded an Asante Africa Foundation Scholarship, allowing him to finish Secondary School, at the top of his class. While waiting to hear about acceptance into university, he attended the Leadership Incubator and now teaches leadership skills to other students and teachers.
Koileken Kiok, Kenya – Koileken is the first in his village of 500 to graduate from high school. He is also an alumnus of the Leadership Incubator. He has been awarded an academic University scholarship and is currently studying medicine at the University of Nairobi.
